Origins of Decorative Henna
As a decorative cosmetic, the origins of henna was in the Middle East eventually spreading around North Africa, and the Persian Gulf, finally reaching the Indian Subcontinent and Central Asia. The leaves of the plant contain a dye molecule which is responsible for coloring the skin.
Henna for Party Fun!
Henna is a great option for fun at teenage birthday parties, graduation celebrations, girls night out, wedding receptions or festivals. The paste is 100% natural and after application it will take approximately 10-15 minutes to dry to the touch. Our artist applies a citrus sealant to help hold the design once dried.
How Dark is Stain?
Henna stains all skin types, but the hands and feet stain darker and stain is fainter on other body parts, or almost invisible on the face or neck. Because of this, darker skin tones are always recommended to henna stain the hands/feet for optimal visibility as other body parts such as the back or chest may not have enough contrast.

Progression of Henna Stain Appearance
Freshly Applied Henna
A freshly applied henna paste design. For optimal staining, leave paste on for 4 hours.
After Removal of Paste
After 4 hours, scrape the paste off (do not wash with water to remove). Avoid exposure to water for 4-12 hours after removing paste (if possible).
24 Hours After Application
Henna stain darkens from orange to brown taking approximately 24-48 hours.
1 Week After Application
Henna stain lasts 1-3 weeks depending on area on which applied (hands and feet are darker).
